The Things People Say Behind Your Back

Today felt… different. Not terrible, not great, just one of those “somehow” days that sits heavy on your chest.

You know that feeling you get when you realize people have been talking about you — not to your face, but behind your back?
Yeah. That one.

It’s strange how people can smile with you and still have a whole story about you when you’re not there.
And honestly? It stung a little.
Not because what they said was true, but because I expected better.

But this is part of the journey I signed up for — the journey of growing, changing, becoming something bigger than what people expect. And growth comes with noise. The higher you climb, the louder the whispers.

What I Learned Today

  1. People talk when they don’t understand you.
It’s easier to sit and discuss your life than work on theirs.

  2. Silence doesn’t mean weakness.
Sometimes the strongest response is just moving forward like you didn’t hear anything.

  3. Not everyone is meant to clap for you.
And that’s fine. Their opinions don’t pay your bills or build your future.

  4. God hears conversations you weren’t invited to.
And He uses them to shape you, not break you.

How I Feel Right Now

Honestly?
A little disappointed.
A little confused.
But also stronger.
Because now I know I’m walking a path that not everyone will understand.
And that’s okay — I’m not living for their approval.

My Promise to Myself

I won’t let whispers stop me.
I won’t let assumptions distract me.
I won’t let quiet criticism slow me down.

If anything, today reminded me why I started this journey:
To become someone so focused on my own growth that I stop noticing the noise around me.

This is Day 2.
It wasn’t perfect, but it was real.
And the journey continues — with or without the crowd.
